Curriculum Vitae

Born in Waiern, a small and beautiful village in Carinthia, in 1971. From 1985 to 1989 I attended the BORG Feldkirchen.
From 1990 to 1996 I studied Mathematics at Technical University of Graz. The topic of my diploma thesis was Asymptotic Expansions for a large Class of Random Variables .
After a period of 10 month working in Germany at GMD-German National Research Center for Information Technology, I became Assistent at the Department of Statistics of the Technical University in Graz.

Research Interests


During my time in Germany I was working on topics of Data Mining , namely Subgroup Mining and Text Mining .

The first one was introduced in the scientific literature by W. Klösgen as the task of identifying interesting subgroups of large populations of objects.

The latter one is concerned with finding interesting relations in a unstructured collection of documents. Text Mining is highly interesting for applications on the WWW for purposes of navigation and summarization of internet sites.

I also got in touch with causal analysis and statistical modelling.

The topic of my diploma thesis were Asymptotic Expansions of the Distribution of a certain type of Random Variables. This work was supervised by Ao. Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Müller and Ao. Prof. Dr. Herwig Friedl.
