Statistical Modeling Network Meeting
We are pleased to announce that on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September, 2015, a 2-days meeting on Smooth Regression Modelling based on the R package mgcv will by held by Simon N. Wood from University of Bath/UK.
All lectures will take place in the Seminarraum Statistik, Graz University of Technology, Kopernikusgasse 24/III, room number NT 03 098.

- Wednesday Morning:
- 8:30 - 9:00: Registration
- 9:00 - 9:50: Brief demo of GAMs in mgcv to set the scene.
- 9:50 - 10:40: Basis penalty smoothing (presentation).
- 10:40 - 11:00: Coffee Break.
- 11:00 - 12:00: Exercises on constructing simple basis penalty smooths.
- Wednesday Afternoon:
- 14:00 - 14:50: (Finish of morning exercise if necessary).
- 14:50 - 15:40: From basis-penalty smooths to GAMs (presentation).
- 15:40 - 16:00: Coffee Break.
- 16:00 - 17:00: Exercises on basic GAM use.
- Thursday Morning:
- 9:00 - 10:40: A toolbox of smooths (presentation).
- 10:40 - 11:00: Coffee Break.
- 11:00 - 12:00: Continuing exercises.
- Thursday Afternoon:
- 14:00 - 15:40: Checking, selecting etc (presentation).
- 15:40 - 16:00: Coffee Break.
- 16:00 - 17:00: Continuing exercises.
